PORTABLE STAGING SYSTEM

The 4’ x 4’ platform is the basic building block for your ExpressDeck system. 4’ x 1’ platforms are used to create stairs or to extend your stage dimensions in 1’ increments (8”, 16”, and 24” heights only).

Platforms are comprised of sandwiched layers of honeycombed and high-density plywood, topped with a heavy-duty carpet surface and an aluminum frame that contains the hidden locking mechanism. The attractive gray carpet surface reduces noise and prevents slipping, and is hard-wearing and easy to maintain.

Assembled platforms lock together to create a sturdy and stable stage. Contained within each 4’ platform edge is a male or female lock component (4’ x 4’ platforms have 2 male and 2 female sides , while the 4’ x 1’ platforms contain 1 male and 1 female side). Simply slide the corresponding locking components together and secure with a twist of the included hex key.

ExpressDeck risers fold up for easy storage and transportation then unfold and lock to platforms and steps with a simple twist of the included hex key.  It’s easy to create multi-level tiers by using different riser heights.

Lightweight aluminum risers come in four heights to fit 4’ x 4’ platforms: 8”, 16”, 24”, and 32”, and three heights to fit 4’ x 1’ step platforms: 8”, 16”, and 24”.  Made from copper and ABS plastic with a brushed aluminum finish, these risers are lightweight (4’ x 24” weighs 18.74 lbs), yet support up to 185 lbs/sq ft when locked to a platform. 

Risers lock to platforms via screws located at each corner riser leg that correspond to holes containing a hidden locking mechanism at each corner of the platform.  Simply align the screws and holes, insert the included hex key into the top of the hole and turn clockwise.

Risers of different heights and step risers lock to each other with easy-to-use riser clamps.  Loosen the bolts and tighten around one leg of a riser and one leg of another riser.

Access your ExpressDeck portable stage with our convenient and easy-to-assemble stairs. Attach as many staircases as you need - in any location on the perimeter of your modular staging system. Stairs are comprised of 4’ x 1’ x’ 1.25” carpeted platforms, 4’ x 1’ x 8”, 16”, and 24” collapsible risers, and 1’ x 4’ x 3” hand rails, and are assembled in the same manner as the stage modules.

For your convenience, stairs can be ordered in all-inclusive kits or as individual components. Individual components are available to purchase should you need to replace or augment your portable staging system. However, we recommend ordering stair kits to ensure you receive all the modules that you require.

To configure your platform system, first measure your space and sketch the layout you desire, including stair placement. Determine how many 4’ x 4’ platforms you need by dividing all of your dimensions by 4.Choose the kit that best suits your needs and augment with additional individual platforms and riser. Make safety a priority with ExpressDeck portable staging guard rails. These rails attach easily to 4’ x 4’ stage platforms, locking to the platform and each other for extra security.

After determining the placement of your guard rails, drill through the platforms with a 7/16” or 11mm drill bit at the pre-marked guide holes. Align rail feet with holes and secure with the included bolts. Secure guard rails to each other using rail-to-rail connector hardware and corner connector hardware at corners.

Designed specifically to simplify transportation and storage of the ExpressDeck portable staging system, each flight case can accommodate up to six 4’ x 4’ platforms, six risers of any height, hardware, and skirting. Heavy-duty construction featuring double-anchor industrial rivets, reinforced corners, and industrial grade rubber feet, earned this case an ATA 300 rating for transit cases. Stackable ball corners allow for safe, orderly, and space-saving storage.

Skirting completes a professional look for your portable platform system and hides any unsightly wires or storage underneath. Simply clip skirts to the front edge of each platform. Available in lengths that correspond to riser heights (8", 16", 24". and 32").
